Paper Pups - Origami Dog Kit

The little dogs are adorable. They are not easy to make, but I am up for the challenge! What I am not up for: getting interrupted by ads every 20 seconds, the print wears while you fold the paper so the final product always looks worn, and the paper pamphlet is useless. I purchased this item from PaperSource (for a premium sadly) to lower my screen time, but I can’t make the dogs without watching the video because the instructions have multiple errors. The video is riddled with ads because it’s on YouTube.

Received these as a gift and based on the quality and reviews am pretty sure that they are a legitimate product. As others have noted, the written instructions are impossible to follow (steps are missing and included steps are poorly worded, steps do not always match diagrams and diagrams sometimes are physically impossible). The updated video is much more helpful but in my opinion should NOT include ads-- as is, the instructions are frequently interrupted which makes following along annoying.

Pros: paper is high quality and the idea is cute! The puppies I made while following the video instructions are very fun and I especially like the Yorkie/Cavapoo. The printed fur and faces really elevate the origami shapes.

Suggestions: PLEASE include ALL STEPS in written instructions and user test them with non-experts, and please make sure the diagrams match the written instructions and that the angles of the paper match what is actually possible. Please note which side is the face side in the included diagrams (and possibly note where they eyes are oriented?). Finally, I think the puppies should be split into multiple different pack options by difficulty.

It should be a simple fun oragami project, however, the paper instructions tell you to start with the PIKKII logo facing upright. Why, then, after following all the instructions did my dog not have a face?!? I went back to make sure I had followed the instructions correctly, which I had, which then forced me to cross reference the instructions in the booklet with the online YouTube video instructions. Sure enough, the very first instruction on the video completely counters the instructions in the booklet. Start with the dogs face up right. VERY ANNOYING AND CONFUSING. Now I have 50 dogs with no faces and my nephew is crying.

Very poor instructions. I can only echo comments made previously. States for ages 8+ but I would say it’s highly unsuitable for any child of any age. Very frustrating and lots of wasted paper through multiple attempts at following the poor instructions. Product needs refining to make it more user friendly. This hasn’t been enjoyable as I thought it would be.

I am so pleased with the paper Pups. The paper is great quality, the dogs all have faces on them. The video is easy to follow.

Before I order from you I bought off Amazon, not knowing that the Amazon ones are cheap fakes. The Amazon fake was very disappointing. So I found the official Pikkii site and bought from you and I'm so pleased 😀

Thought this was gonna be a fun origami experience… ‘frustrated’ doesn’t even begin to describe how those instructions make me feel. Not only are the YouTube instructions too fast, the movements are constantly blocked by the hand and individual steps ( and how the papers meant to look at each step) aren’t showcased enough. I’ve done and redone the same bend so many times the paper just ends up ripping. Not only that but the paper instructions are unusable and don’t even clearly show where the eyes are meant to go. Literally don’t waste your time on this.
